Forget the notion of spending lots of money on a new glitzy outfit and grooming for hours. It seems the average Brit likes to keep it casual with 63 percent of those asked saying it was their preferred dress code over black tie and fancy dress. To compliment the 64 percent of those surveyed who said they had spent less than £50 on an outfit for the last Christmas party they attended - 65 percent spent less than an hour to getting ready!
A new survey out today concludes that we are a sensible bunch, with more people interested in socialising and boosting office morale with colleagues than having romantic office liaisons and behaving badly. 84 percent of those asked said they had never had an romantic office encounter with a colleague and 87 percent never doing anything they regretted whilst at their Christmas party... if you say so! Whatever your intentions for the Christmas party, most agree that an office party is imperative for boosting office morale, with a DJ or band being the preferred type of entertainment.
We may not spent a lot of time getting groomed but we are a nation of perfume and aftershave lovers. 86 percent of those asked said they wouldn't leave the house without a spritz of their favourite aftershave or perfume. 40 percent of ladies asked said this was their handbag essential to take to the Christmas party, more important than bronzer, lipstick and mascara.
While we may not want a romance with a fellow worker, we wouldn't mind dating a celebrity! Those surveyed voted Chris Hemsworth as the perfect Christmas party date, with Gerard Butler coming a close second. The favourite lady to take as a date saw Monica Belluci coming up top and Katy Perry coming a close second. However - maybe not that shockingly - Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, came bottom of list!
What are you doing for your Christmas Office Party this year? *The poll of 2,520 adults was conducted last month across the country by FragranceDirect.co.uk.
Christmas parties are set to fill our diaries for the next few weeks, so of course we've come up with the perfect festive face to suit just about everyone - especially when paired with a novelty knit and elf ears!Since the main focus of this look is on the eyes, the first step is to prep and define the eyes using the bronzer shade from the Victoria's Secret Gilded Bronze Palette. Next, highlight the lids by using the lightest shade in the Gilded palette. Blend the colours together using a soft fluffy brush for a sultry, smokey finish.
Next it's time to create the perfect cat eye using the Bourjois Clubbing Liquid Liner.TOP TIP - If you struggle with creating a uniform line, use tacky scotch tape under the eyes to act as a guide. Just apply the liner across the lash line and paint over the tape for a sharp point. Just don't forget to remove the tape!
Now to add a little sparkle to the look'. apply Technic Electric Beauty Bronze Liner across the other line you've just created. Follow up with lashings of the L'Oreal Lash Architect 4D Mascara, for a dramatic curl!
The next step is to apply the L'Oreal Infallible Foundation all over the skin for a flawless finish, followed by an application of the W7 Light Diffusing Concealer under the eyes for a highlighted glowing effect.
Add colour to the face by blending the Victoria's Secret Gilded Bronze bronzer across the cheekbones and set the look by using the New CID Translucent Powder.
To help sculpt your face, fill in the brows using the Technic Ultimate Brow Kit and set with the wax provided.
And the final step? A red lip, of course! Sweep MAC's Ruby Woo across your lips for the perfect, kiss proof pout that lasts all day. Perfect for all those mistletoe moments!
