Coronavirus is keeping us all on lockdown in our homes, now rather than dwell on the fact we can’t go out and socialise, we think it’s the perfect time to home in on your skincare! Enforced solitude offers you the chance to trial a different skincare routine, add new products or treatments and give yourself a little extra pamper with all the extra time on your hands.
With that in mind, we wanted to find out how the staff at FD are coping working from home and what their skincare routine is looking like!
Lauren – Graphic DesignerI have been adding an extra couple of steps in my routine since working from home. Normally I do a quick cleanse in the morning and slap on some moisturiser before my makeup and then cleanse, tone and moisturise in the evening. But since staying at home, I’ve been using glycolic acid in the mornings to really give my skin a boost throughout the day, sloughing off all the dead skin cells. I’ve also not been wearing much makeup and am really enjoying giving myself a break in that way. Once I’ve logged off my computer for the day, I’ve been popping on a sheet mask for an extra little pamper. And then my normal cleanse, tone and moisturise in the evenings!

Lucy – Product Marketing ExecSo, I’ve been using a chemical exfoliant cleanser in the morning, followed by hyaluronic acid and then an oil-free moisturiser to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. I haven’t been using any makeup remover because I haven’t applied makeup up nearly two weeks! I’ve also cut down on the amount of lip balm I usually use. I’ve also been adding in a daily face mask and yesterday I did some at-home dermaplaning which is a treatment I usually have done in a salon!

Lauren – Marketing ManagerNow I’m working from home, I’m trying to wear less make up and focus more on giving my skin the care and attention it needs. Usually I only cleanse and moisturise, whereas now I’m spending more time making sure to spritz a toner, apply a serum and an eye cream. I’ve also been making time to do parts of my skincare routine that I usually neglect because I don’t have enough time, such as applying a face mask.

Mia – Social Media ExecutiveSince working from home, I thought I’d take the opportunity to give my skin a break from day after day makeup application for when I’m usually in the office. I’ve recently been struggling with constant breakouts (shoutout to my new pill) and so I’ve decided that whilst I can, I’ll be stripping back my routine so that I am just using a light cleanser when washing my face before applying a gel moisturiser in the evenings. Before this, I was applying two different serums before moisturising for the daytime and evening as well as exfoliating almost every day. I think it’s safe to say, my skin is enjoying some fresh air!
